Toronto Pearson Airport, Canada’s largest international airport, is strategically focused on the joy of travel. “Why (Y) We Travel” is an effort to celebrate all the growth, memory, thrill, and discovery travel has to offer with passengers as they navigate from one destination to another as well as a growing airport. Through the course of twelve essays published in partnership with The Walrus and the Canadian Airports council, travel is explored through romantic and sentimental perspectives. To mirror those same perspectives visually we looked to travel and airline posters from the 30-60’s and created our own series of illustrations with Danish illustrator Mads Berg.
The result was a 360 degree campaign brand with nothing to sell but tonnes of ideas to share making it both memorable, authentic, and collectible.
